Blog Submission Guidelines
Interested in writing for SocRogueScholars?
SocRogueScholars is always on the lookout for new thoughts, writings, and contributors. If you would like to write a contribution on this site, we would be very interested in hearing from you. To be considered, please follow the guidelines below:
Submissions should center on a strong argument or analysis about a social problem or inequality, grounded in a sociological lens. Special expertise is not required on the given issue written about. Will not consider “ax-grinding, spleen-venting tirades,” nor self-serving advocacy pieces. Please limit use of jargon unless you define it clearly and succinctly to the audience. Also refrain from any and all strong and otherwise vulgar language. Expect a response within 3-5 business days of your submission. Submission length must be within 400-800 words. Submissions may be edited for grammar, length, accuracy, clarity, and general readability. We also reserve the right to request the author to submit additional drafts if found appropriate. Submissions already in other publications or otherwise posted online will not be accepted. If accepted, author will be asked to provide a short bio* to be posted on the blog as well.
Submissions are to be emailed at: firstname.lastname@example.org
*Should your submission be accepted for publication, your bio should be no more than 400 words in length. We encourage you to introduce your academic and professional backgrounds, yet personal information (whatever you feel comfortable sharing) is also welcomed and appreciated. A picture of yourself is recommended but not necessary, and any images you would like to add so long as they are licensed under Creative Commons or you have taken them yourself.
